Attention: Don't forget the Blog Candy below - ONE more day!! Just leave me a comment (and contact info)!
This is sort of long...
I've been in the market for a photo editing program for a few weeks now (thanks to this new blog). I downloaded a 30-day trial of Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and I only had about 10 days left. I really liked the program (although I think I probably only understood and used 10% of it), but I just couldn't justify paying $100 for it, so I decided I would just get the Photoshop Elements 5.0 for half the price.
Well, Friday I was in town (town meaning Coos Bay) shopping and spied something interesting...Bamboo Fun. I LOVED the box..it just looked soo FUN! Green and black with white Doodles and smooth and oh so very yummy! It is a pen tablet (a writing surface) with a "pen" and a mouse and it hooks up to your computer (even with your existing mouse). The box says you can edit, paint, draw, write and simplify. Well who doesn't need a $100 toy to simplify their life?
So I picked up the box to read about it while the kids bashed, I mean played, with the display in the store. Guess what? It comes with Adobe Photoshop 5.0 ($45-50), Corel Painter Essentials 3.0 ($99 on Amazon.com but it is the old version so you could probably find it for 1/2 that price), and Nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 ($50 on Amazon, but it is also the older version). Well, I was already planning to pay $50 for the Photoshop program sooo why not pay $50 more for this new toy? Actually, I would never pay that much for something like this....not for myself, not unless it was for my birthday or some other gift.
Anyhooo.. I came home and told my husband about it. I told him about the program I was planning to buy, the programs it came with, etc., and I told him that I think I need it for Mother's Day. You other mothers out there might need to start making a list .....we deserve a lot of good stuff for mother's day...I want $$ and toys....not stale Cheerios glue to paper!! Okay...being a little greedy....but like I said....the box was soo coool! You can hand-write on photos and print them out...I mean....how cool is that? I could draw a tiara on my daughter....and a devil's horns on my son.....and it would like like crayons and then I could print it out and it would be a shiny and neat!
We had to go to "town" today for a rainy track meet, and GUESS WHAT I GOT???!!? Yup! I got wet! Ha! I also got the Bamboo Fun Pad! We needed to get a few things at Fred Meyer (the store I spied it at) and as we walked by, I said, "See, Mark, this is that pad I was telling you about, doesn't it look sooo cool?" He said, "If you want it, you'd better grab it now cuz I won't offer again." So, I got it! It is going to take me lots-a-lots-a practice....but here is a little doodle I did! (Okay, I didn't draw the flowers, I placed them, but I did the swirly flourish things with dots with my handy dandy notebook and pen!). Oh, and I like Photoshop 5 better than 6! Not so complicated maybe!
Isn't she just the cutest? Yeah, Krista is cute too....

A beautiful photo and I love the personal touch your new "toy" has added. Congratulations!
That's a great picture of Krista....she's usually so serious looking at school, so I lovet ot see her pretty smile!!! Great program, maybe I need to look into it. I think I need a new computer first though.....unless it will work on this MacBook that I have.
OMG, that is the absolute coolest! Does it work with a MAC?

That sounds like a really cool toy and an awesome deal too. Can't wait to see some other things you create.
