Congrats! What fun candy, I would love to win.
Thank you so much for those who played along!
Now for one more winner! ME! I won a contest and I'm pretty darn shocked and excited about it! I have only ever entered two card contests! One was a small local contest and my friend Mary won....the other was this contest and I really didn't think I had a chance, but a good friend of mine said, "You have the stamps....you'd better submit a card." So I did! The prize...I still can't believe the prize, but Lizzie Anne Designs was very generous!! Thank you guys - I still can't believe it! Luckily only 75 other people submitted (which greatly helped my chances!), but there were some really great cards! My favorite card in the contest was submitted by Maren ! I thought for sure she'd win! She does excellent stuff! She did end up winning for that sketch! Congrats Maren!
Now for my card...
About the card: I've had the "Out of this World" stamp set for quite some time and I just got "Born to be Wild" in the mail last week. As soon as I saw the monkey, I wished that the spaceship in "Out of this World" was bigger. Then when I saw the sketch given by LAD for the contest I thought, "Darn it.....I'm going to have to draw my own spaceship!" (Not normally a very good thing- Kisa drawing) Well I put it off and put it off and put it off, but in the back of my mind I kept hearing Heather saying "You'd better do it!" So Sunday night I had a few minutes so I sat down and drew the spaceship out on a piece of scrap Sahara Sand, cut it out, and ran it through my Big Shot with a small Nestabilities circle. I thought it looked okay, looked to be the right size, but I didn't want just a plain old piece of paper. I thought about paper piecing it....I thought about throwing it away...then I thought about Shimmerz! I thought, what the heck....I'll paint it! I painted it with Silver Bells Shimmerz and I was excited to see that the Sahara Sand turned Silver! Then I realized I should have outlined it in black and sponged it for some shading and I figured it was too late since I had already painted it.....well I was wrong! First I took out my black Zig pen and outlined it....it worked PERFECTLY through the paint! I was thrilled! Then I sponged it! Yes, I was able to sponge it AFTER the Shimmerz paint and it worked perfectly! I don't know how it works....it just does! And you know what? None of the shimmery glimmery stuff came off! I know that I could have NEVER done that with Stickles or Glitter!! So I had my spaceship ready to go! Then rest of the card was easy....I followed the sketch! The Star paper is actually like a Mulberry paper with raised silver stars.....I thought that would be fun to use! The other paper is Prima Dude Paper. There is one sheet in there that has stars, so I used the stars to create the "flames" for the spaceship. The planet, flag, and sentiment all come from "Out of this World" and the monkey is from "Born to be Wild."
