Jacksonbelle Tuesday!

Hey guys!  Happy JB Tuesday! This week the Jacksonbelle Embellishments design team was challenged by Lynda with a Thanksgiving card or a Thank You card.  Now – this was VERY challenging for me!  I do not own ANY Thanksgiving stamps!  (Oh, I guess I do have a big stack of paper I could have used, but I didn’t even think of that until just now!)  I dug through my old stuff and I found a piece of vellum that said, “Give Thanks.”  Well, that will just have to do!!   I am actually quite pleased with the end results!

This card seriously took me nearly three weeks to make!   It all started out with some blog surfing.  I was jumping around and found a blog that showed tinfoil embossing.  (I’m really sorry, I can’t remember where it was or who it was).   Tinfoil embossing, just in case you haven’t heard about it or tried it, is really easy!  First, you take a piece of tinfoil and a piece of cardstock and you stick them together and then you run it through your die-cut machine in a Cuttlebug Embossing folder.   I used DCWV adhesive back cardstock for this – made sticking the tinfoil onto the paper much easier! : )  So, the tinfoil looked really cool, but I wanted it painted.  Well, I didn’t have any paint, so I used ink of course! Then I realized that the ink was NEVER going to dry, so I embossed it with clear embossing powder and was thrilled with the results!!

I hope you can see the shiny detail in the photo!  I did something similar with the white Prima flowers too!  I used ink to color them.  ( I love using Versamagic Dew Drops for this purpose – plus it works perfectly when embossing!).   While they were still went with the ink, I dumped clear embossing powder all of them and embossed.  I LOVE the plastic or maybe pleather look it gave the flowers!  I’ve had these things sitting on my stamping table for several weeks waiting for the perfect card – and this JB Tuesday card just happened to work perfectly with them!

Product Details: Patterned paper: Basic Grey Archaic; Cardstock: SU! Mellow Moss and DCWV brown; DCWV vellum words; Variety of brown brads (one I made with brown ink and clear embossing powder); Tinfoil and Cuttlebug embossing folder; White Prima flowers; Versamagic chalk inks; Velvet Ribbon: Fancy Amber Lace Wraps (from Jacksonbelle’s store, but I can’t post a link right now as that option is not working!)

Thanks for stopping by!  Please be sure to check out all of the other design team blogs today to see their Thankful or Thanksgiving cards!
