You Say It’s Your Birthday…

NaNa! NaNa! NaNa! Well It’s My Birthday Too!

Ha! Remember that from the movie Sixteen Candles?  I think that could have been my favorite part!

Anyway – back to business!  Today is Jacksonbelle Tuesday and we were challenged to use something new!  Well that sure wasn’t hard!  I needed a Birthday card and gift bag for a friend so I made sure I used something new!  I almost feel like a cheater!!

I’ve had these plastic gift-bags from Wal-Mart for a while.  They are pretty big and very sturdy.  They have a clear pocket on the front to hold a card.  I just took some Basic Grey Bittersweet paper matted with some Close to Cocoa SU! cardstock and cut it to fit, I sponged the edges a bit with some Versamagic Java ink,  and added a brad to each corner and  a bit of Jody’s Red Line adhesive to hold it in place.

The card is 5.5 x 5.5 – since I was going to put it in the pocket of the bag I didn’t need an envelope to fit!  It was such a simple card – it took me maybe 3 minutes!! I used Closed to Cocoa SU! cardstock for the base and one piece of Bittersweet paper.  I scrounged the ribbon (that was already tied) from my stash of I-must-save-this-just-in-case-I-might-need-it-some-day and slapped it on there!  I used a Basic Grey Bittersweet Chipboard sticker  to frame the Happy Birthday sentiment!  I LOVE simple cards like this!

Please play along with this challenge “New Year – New Stuff” and use something new!!!  It doesn’t have to be Jbelle – perhaps something you got for Christmas that you just haven’t used yet! If you post on Splitcoast be sure to use the code JBE035 so we can find it!
