When Lily met Billy...

She borrowed his clothes!

Cowgirl Lily.
Isn't she cute? I borrowed Billy from my friend Mary and coupled him with Lily! So this project took me closer to an hour, but i did have to color and cut out the little cowgirl! I used the same box directions as yesterday, (from Scor-Pal.com). I used some scrappers floss for her rope and prismacolor pencils to color her. Her head is attached to the flap of the box and the body to the base of the box. I was in a bit of a hurry to finish off the project so the card is a bit lame but it will work. The paper is Adorn It Wild West Collection. I also bought the stickers to match the paper, which made the card simple to make and gave me a bit more embellishments for the box. I sponged the edges with Versamagic Jumbo Java (and the embossing on the card) to give it an aged dirty look. It really all came together quite fast (minus coloring and cutting)! Of course, I plan to make more...I'm in love with the box!
See ya later!

Lollipop Lily!

Today is going to be a quick post! I was going to make a card last night but I decided I was TOO tired so I went to bed instead (before midnight), so the card I'm sharing today is one I made last week for a swap.
Lollipop Lily.
Lollipop Lily I was in a monthly swap at Splitcoast for two years, I believe....this is our final month. Like a good sit-com....it must come to an end. It was a good two years and I got to meet people I never would have ever had a chance to meet, so thank you Janette and girls! I thought it would be appropriate to make a Thank You card for the final swap.

I found an old scrap of paper that fell out of my scrap box (I think it is from a DCWV Stack a few years back) and I decided that the colors would be fun and a combination I had not done before. Pink, Green, and Orange....and BRIGHT! I even found some cute thread in the sewing box that matched the pink perfectly and "tied" it all together nicely! My swap cards don't have the ribbon. I had planned all along to make them with the ribbon, but I glued down the patterned paper and completely forgot about the ribbon....so they are without!

My son has a baseball game tonight (which I will miss), and my daughter has a softball game out of town as well so I'd better get some stuff done around here before I have to go! Oh! I almost forgot....my son hit his first REAL home run Tuesday night! He was soo excited. His first at bat of the game, he hit a double...it bounced over the fence, so it was an automatic double. The second at bat....he hit it out into the parking lot and over the cars! He was soo thrilled! First one of his life....and first one of the season! My daughter has hit 2 'home runs' and 1 grand slam. They were in-the-park home runs, they went out quite far and rolled to the fence and the little girls had to run to get it, so not a REAL home run, but still very exciting!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Two-fer card!

I made this card for my mom. I gave it to her for Mother's Day and for Nurses' Week!
(Hence..Two-fer) My mom is 50+ and just last year she became a registered nurse (although she's always been my first-to-call-on-call doctor)! She worked long and hard and I'm quite proud of her! Yeah mom! That was one of the MAIN reasons that I purchased this stamp set..for the nurse hat! : )

The Two-fer Card.
Nurse LynetteI wanted to keep the card simple because my mom really isn't too frilly....okay, and I was in a bit of a hurry! I put Crystal Effects on her hat and I used Lumiere Pearl White all over the card base and DP, and on her dress! I had really only wanted to put the Lumiere on the DP, but I didn't plan too well cuz I decided to do that AFTER I had already stuck it to the card base.....so...I ended up getting it all over the place; I then had to make it look intentional and I spread it all over, which ended up working well because it sealed in the rub-on! We will just say that it was ALL in the MAIN PLAN of the card and I meant to do it! And don't look too close because I tried to put another rub-on on the top left corner of the main image piece, but it just wouldn't stick! I don't know what the problem was....the whole book of rub-ons does NOT work! I purchased it at my LSS. I think I'll just chuck it! It is a bit frustrating! Anyway....My mom didn't care how messed up the card was ....she actually liked it quite a bit!

P.S. I've got blog candy to share....soon!
