All week I had planned to do Poetic Artistry's Mojo Monday #34 sketch challeng before the weekend...it just never worked out that way, and now I'm a full week behind! Julee has delicious sketches and there is already a Mojo Monday up for today and guess what? No work tonight....so just maybe (after House of course) I will get to do it on time! Anywhoo..I did finally get to stamp Sunday night before bed. This was a great sketch and I was thrilled to use my new cupcake stamp set, Cupcakes by Hero Arts! I'm not very good at putting sentiments on the fronts of my cards, and more often than not, I don't even put it inside the card until I know what I'm using it for, but this set has a few really cute ones! I also don't normally use pink on pink....but since I was in a hurry to make a card...any card...I just wanted to stamp and color and be done.....I went for scraps on my table. The Pretty in Pink piece was already card-front size, so I grabbed that one and decided it needed Reverse Swiss Dots (fancy name for using the back side of a Swiss Dots embossed piece of paper). I already had the black paper out....so I knew I'd use that for matting my pieces. Then I was looking for another piece of PI Pink paper in my scrap stash (which is a huge mess of paper spilling out of a tote onto the floor that I've planned to clean up for the last year) and I found a small piece of Regal Rose, I believe the name is, and thought....hmm.. normally I'd say heck no, but today, I think it will do. Then I scrounged another scrap of shimmery white and stamped my cupcake, ran it through my Big Shot with a lovely new circle Nestabilities dye (Thank you Mary!) and cut and embossed it, then I colored it, glitterfied it with LOTS of glitter, and then decided I needed to have a shiny silver cupcake paper, so I colored it with my metallic Prismacolor silver pen (and enjoyed the chemical fumes for a bit). This morning when I looked at it, I decided it needed just a bit more of something, so I added the white gel pen dots around the edge... I think that finished it off quite well. I thought it turned out nice and shiny and I think I could even eat the cherry on top! I guess it was a good thing that I decided to use LOTS of glitter....cuz I think Heather may have been having glitter-withdrawals from her man-cards, which by the way are very cute for being man-cards!!
