A Rock'n Challenge!

A new challenge in town!

You Know You Rock! Have you seen this new challenge blog? When I read the title....I KNEW I had to do it! Deb - thanks for letting me know about this one! What fun!?!

The first challenge is called "Rock The Cover." You are supposed to see what CD you have in your CD player, find the cover, and use the cover art as inspiration! Well... really don't have many CDs that I listen to as I mostly buy MP3 files on-line. So, I did the closest thing....I checked what song I had been listening to the last time I turned off my MP3 player...and I must admit that I'm a bit embarrassed to admit it! I will tell you that I downloaded the song for my 11-year-old daughter, which would be half the truth.... I actually REALLY like the song....lots! So, I got back on-line and found the album art for this song and used that as my inspiration.

The Card.

I knew I wanted to use pink and black and lots of bling! I used lots of glittery rub-ons, lots of Bling, and lots of Shimmerz! The black flowers on the dress, the purse, and the shoes are painted with Coffee Shimmerz, as well as the outside edge of the black paper that mats the main image (because that was the darkest color I had - and it worked well.) I used an old blender pen dipped in Pink Shimmerz to draw a line around the very outside of the white cardstock (the piece that the image is stamped on), and I used the same color for the dog's bow, and for a touch of brassy hair, I used Sunflower Shimmerz! I also wanted the words to be offset like the album and rub-ons work perfectly for this, and instead of the Disney Logo in the bottom left corner, I used a rub-on scroll....with a bit of bling! And of course that little hottie is a Bella...you can find the girl there too!! Haa! : )

I can't wait for next month's You Know You Rock Challenge! And in case you are wondering what song it is I like so much, it is called See You Again. The first time I heard it on the radio my daughter was singing it and she sounded really cute..so maybe that is why I like it so much... I think that might be a good excuse!
