Big Shot Baskets!

When I heard SU! was coming out with a Big Shot, I was thrilled! I've owned one for probably two years and I LOVE it, LOVE it, LOVE it, and I KNEW that SU! was going to offer something fab. for it! My first splurge was the Baskets and Blooms Bigz XL. This thing is HUGE! When I first got my Big Shot, I purchased a few dies for boxes, etc., but I was pretty disappointed by their size, they were TINY, like maybe 1 inch! Anyway, these Bigz are definitely not your typical home-diecutting-system die! These guys are BIG! And of course SU! would offer something exclusive! I am happy to say that I am once again excited about SU! products. I had felt like had gotten to a point where I owned all that I thought I wanted.....well.....no more! Now I've got a list just as big as when I got my first catty several years ago and I love it! Now, if only I could win the lottery!

I made this one to look a bit more like a purse (and I didn't have any candy left to put in it). For the handles, I took scraps of matching brown just big enough to get the whole handle and ran them through the Big Shot with the same die, then I used the extra one as a stencil to complete the circle, cut them out, and glued them on - easy peasy and very cute! The flower and the brown strip also come on the die - I LOVE that it comes with the strip - sometimes those are the hardest things to cut out, especially if you need it to fit something rounded!

I filled this one with Hershey's Candy Corn Kisses (Um...it took two bags of Candy Corn Kisses, one bag of Caramel Apple Kisses, and one bag of Pumpkin Pie Kisses to fill this little guy - I planned to make more baskets, but I was out of candy!)

The only thing extra I did for this one was to take some ribbon and run it down the front of the basket, sort of like suspenders, just to help break up the black a bit. I used Imaginisce Hallowhimsy paper for the basket from Jacksonbelle Embellishments (she has tons of cute stuff for Halloween!) - I think it is the cutest Halloween paper eva! The flowers are also part of the SU! die, and the bats are a Martha punch!

I hope to get a few minutes to play tomorrow for National Card Making Day - My first stop will be at my friend Heather's Blog - she's got LOTS of challenges and prizes going on! If you get a chance, check her out!
