First Official Challenge!

First off, I am proud to announce Jacksonbelle's first official challenge! We decided to go with a color challenge and she picked some great colors! Pink, Green and Grey! With a secondary challenge of making it a "Thank You" card. I was so nervous....I jumped right to it and made my card just as soon as she decided on the colors and theme! I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before that I have MAJOR performance anxiety...so I wanted to get this card done and out of the way as soon as possible (plus it gave me several days to redo it if I needed!) Lucky me...I liked it and I didn't redo it!

We'd also like to invite you play along! All you need to do is make a card with something available at Jacksonbelle Embellishments (or something purchased there), use the colors Pink, Green, and Grey, and make it say Thanks! Even if you just used Stickles you'd be safe! Post it on your blog or if you have a Splitcoast Gallery, please use JBCC01 as a keyword so we can find it and shoot us a link at Jacksonbelle's Member Company Forum!

One last thing....and perhaps the coolest thing of all! Amber (AmberDawn) is offering you a chance to win some blog candy (the best kind eva!) for playing along! So be sure to check out her blog if you plan to play! You DON'T want to miss it!$$!

The Challenge Card.

The Card

The details:
I used Basic Grey Sugared paper. It is a little hard to tell which piece I used, but it has pink roses and green leaves. It actually didn't really go to well with the Basic Grey CS, but I didn't have a choice...my other option was Going Grey...and that was WAY wrong (at least for my eyes and my stamping abilities..it just wasn't gonna work!) Anyway, I decided to cuttlebug the paper with the Textile embossing folder, then I used Going Grey (my only grey ink in the house!) to ink it up a bit, and was quite pleased to see that because the paper was embossed (damaged) the grey soaked in quite nicely and quite dark and actually looked like Basic Grey. I stuck a piece of Old Olive behind it and ran a touch of
Daisy Ds rub-on Tape across the ends. I used Inkadinkado's stamp set, Patterned Bugs for the butterfly. I actually stamped Black on the Basic Grey, cut it out, and added Diamond Stickles to the butterfly. The "Thanks" is from my pack of Crate Transfers rub-ons, which I also got at JBelle's, and I put a touch of stickles on the rub-on, and finished it off with some green brads, and one black brad for the butterfly's head (cuz I was not going to try to cut that out!)

Be sure to stop by the other members' blogs to see what they came up with! I'd bet $$ that they are all awesome!
